THELMA’S LAST CHANCE

Just got an email message through my fine art website, from The Star Seed Council, “Trying urgently to get in touch” with someone called Thelma. As I have never met any Thelma, I was somewhat confused about their reason for contacting me. According to their best sources, I am her last known contact and she has but a slim chance to be recalled. Once she is located, she will be given a cleansing memory wipe in order to return to her previous life.  Apparently, it is her last opportunity to be recalled to her home planet before current events on earth continue on their inevitable path toward nuclear annihilation.

I have to admit at that point in the transmission, I lost the thread, and though it continued at great length, I deleted it. My interest in the process by which she might regain her alien state was limited at best, and I got bored.  I hope whoever and wherever she is, Thelma will forgive me for my lack of technological curiosity, but I was loath to venture any deeper into the murky territory of la-la-land.

Besides, I question the veracity of The Star Seed Council. At the end of their message they asked to be added to my email newsletter list in order to receive future notifications of new artwork from my studio. Obviously, one is forced to call into question their belief in the inevitability of Armageddon. Then again, perhaps they want news of the upcoming nuclear disaster and consider my fine art studio a reliable source of news. Their faith in my commitment to journalism is touching.

Gotta love those alien lovers of art.
