ODE TO B E
Sometimes my writing is really just about the words, and ideas contribute nothing to the process. Today it would seem I am to be beleaguered by beetling b-e words. Which, having arrived uninvited with their behemoth footprints, their belligerent attitude, and their bellicose voices berating any delicacy of thought, I have organized into the following …
ODE to B E
If life is a journey and our future the road ahead, where might it take us? We cannot see what lies before, beyond, behind, between, or beneath us. Indeed, our future has not yet come into being. It beckons us to discover what shall befall us, and what we might become.
Time might one day find us becalmed by circumstances, befuddled, bewildered, bewitched, bemused, or bereft of hope as we beat against the beat box noise of a world gone mad.
We may have reason to bewail and bemoan cruel fate, and go berserk or belly up. But then again, with luck, we might behold a vision or feel besotted by beauty and bestir ourselves to bespatter canvas in order to capture color, light, and texture.
At some point we could find ourselves at a standstill bestride the road; a beggar sent to bedevil other travelers; or perhaps sadly bedridden and at the mercy of time.
Any and all of this is possible. Why then do we feel it behooves us to beseech heaven to show us the way, when the road is of our own making? Best use the benign power of self-confidence as our navigation system moving forward. At least we know where we have been. (44)

Behold my mis-begotten mind unravelling.
I love it all! You are a master! I wish I could reply in kind but I am more interested in where you are and what you are doing. I am currently in Jupiter, Florida
So glad you enjoyed. I’m still in Connecticut working as a designer and artist. I find the writing a nice outlet to share my world of artistic endeavors as well as design and life in general.
Bemused by your wordplay, Connie.
Hi to Janet-remembering you from our days as librarians in Syracuse. I was at Liverpool (Peggy Trinca, then). Now I’m in Santa Monica, CA. Peggy Fulton
Ah, I believe those were the best of times. Such good memories
Amazing and you do like to challenge us even if we can’t master your level…
Bewitched by the belief that a Bellini would beguile and becalm my betrothed, I belatedly bemoaned my beloved’s bedtime. Bethumped, as to be beseeching or berating, betwixt and between – bedward beckons and becalms.
I be impressed
Very clever. Regards, Phoebe B. Beebe
